The inaugural IAB I3 Breakfast Session on Thursday, May 31st, 2012, proved to be a resounding success despite an early-morning downpour, as more than 70 guests from across the Publisher, Brand and Agency realm gathered to listen to industry experts from Millward Brown and Nielsen offer their insights on ‘Cross-Media Synergies in a Digital World’.
Sitting down to a sumptuous breakfast served in the elegant Straits Room of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, guests were welcomed by IAB Chairman Loren Shuster, who took the opportunity to announce the launch of IAB Singapore’s Industry Committees for Research & Insights, Education & Training and Creative. He then handed the morning over to IAB Singapore Research & Insights Head, David Jeffs, who proceeded to introduce the first speaker of the morning, Kerry Brown, Business Development Director, Audience Measurement Practive, APMEA, Nielsen.
With the focus on ‘Understanding Cross Media Marketing Effectiveness’, Kerry looked at the challenge faced by Marketers, the sales drivers uncovered by statistical analysis and the role of Online Campaigns in driving marketing effectiveness. The Conclusion? That with Online as a great compliment to traditional media, advertisers could and should go further with their digital investments.
Next up : James Galpin, Head of Media, Millward Brown, with an emphasis on Building Brands with Integrated Campaigns in Asia Pacific. James reviewed observations across APAC, noting the importance of Online channels and Integrated Media in building campaign reach beyond the TV core, and emphasized the importance of good Creative as key to channel performance.
With no shortage of questions during a brief –but spirited!- Q&A session, Phalgun Raju, MD (HK, SEA & Taiwan), InMobi –and exclusive event sponsors of the event- then took to the stage for a presentation of Mobile Insights and suggestions across various creative executions and ideas for how Brands might leverage Mobile as part of an integrated marketing campaign.
